Tim Brown is the proprietor of the successful butchers and greengrocers on the high street in Rushden, Northamptonshire.
The butchers was established 25 years ago, and when the lease for the hairdressers shop next door and the apartment above came up for renewal, Tim snapped up the chance of expanding and diversifying his business.
Plans went ahead for the refit of the hairdressers into a smart new green grocers and the apartment was renovated and let out.
More recently, after contacting local Northampton breweries, and with a lot of research, the green grocers now carries a wide stock of popular ales, flavoured gins and vodkas, among other interesting products.
Tim saw his profits quadruple over the Christmas period. He currently has 10 employees and is open 6:30 to 17:00 six days a week.
Tim has been working with Mick Roche, Senior Area Sales Manager at Tadmarton Products for more than 18 years and Tim often recommends TP to other local businesses. Tim said “Tadmarton Products are a good company to work with, the drivers are friendly, the produce is fresh and I never have any problems.”
The next venture for Tim is looking at the hot food and takeaway market and he feels this may be the next step in his ever expanding business.
